Pomona Heritage is oftern asked for assistance in helping with local restoration projects. The questions such as "where can I find a plasterer?" to "what is the best way to remove paint from historic woodwork?" are frequent. The best way to share such information is from the experience of our members. Below are a series of links to a variety of resources for maintaining, repairing, and researching our historic homes.

In addition, we highly recommend:

City Historic District- These documents include the tree ordinance, the historic preservation ordinance, historic preservation guidelines (to come), and links to various resources for dealing with the city of Pomona.

Pomona Heritage Bylaws- The governing document for Pomona Heritage (pdf file).

Mills Act- Information and forms for owners of historic properties (or those in historic districts) in the city of Pomona. The Mills Act provides for property tax savings potential from 40-60% for the preservation, renovation, and maintenance of historic properties.

Special Collections at the Pomona Public Library- which has an entire collection of books on historic preservation and home remodeling. Many of the books were the result of a donation to the library by Pomona Heritage.

Architectural Styles- from the city of Ontario's web site a full description of the elements that define an architectural style. Allows you to determine if your home is Craftsman or Bungalow, or Beaux Art, Art Deco, or any other style.
